The EMBA Faculty

IU IEEC/CBS CCE has recruited internationally-known, experienced management educators as faculty. Every faculty member has been selected with a view to his/her experience in enhancing the participants’ applied learning rather than classical academic performance. The Leadership Learning part of the program is organized and developed by organization and human resource consultants with extensive international teaching experience in leadership training, organization development, team building facilitation, and executive selection.

JanProf. Jan Annerstedt. Professor, Copenhagen Business School. Master of Arts… Extensive experience from guest lecturerships with universities and business schools , e.g. Asian Institute of Management (Philippines), China Europe International Business School, Australian National University, Lund University (Sweden), MIT (USA), Roskilde University (Denmark), University of Philippines, University of Wollongong (Australia), and Vietnam National University. Has taught MBA and executive MBA courses in international business and management and Master's courses in management, communication and competitive intelligence, including entrepreneurship and strategy formation in high-velocity markets at CBS.


nielsDr. Niels Arnfred is Program Director at the Copenhagen Business School Center for Continuing Education (CBS CCE) and attached to the Center of Business and Development Studies at CBS. 1996 – 2009. He was President and CEO of SIMI, Scandinavian International Management Institute. SIMI is a non-profit academic foundation located in Copenhagen offering advanced executive development programs including an accredited EMBA. Dr. Niels holds an MA (Pol.Sci.) from the University of Aarhus.


pernille brunDr. Pernille Hippe Brun is business/industry psychologist. She is partner in Resonans A/S, a Danish company working with leadership development and strategic and organizational development – from the perspective of the solution focused method. She is a facilitator at SIMI. Pernille holds an MA (Cand.psych.aut.) from University of Copenhagen and University of California, Irvine. Nationality: Danish


VC forumDr. Barbara Knup Kluivers is Master of International Business Studies, MIBS, University of South Carolina, May1990. Dr. Kluivers has particularly concentrated her teaching and research on international marketing and global financial markets. She holds a Master of International Business Studies, MIBS, University of South Carolina, May 1990; and a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, University of Vermont, Burlington, VT, Cum Laude.


nicolaiDr. Nicolai Pogrebnyakov is Assistant Professor Department of International Economics and Management, Copenhagen Business School. He holds an MS Computer Science and Mathematics (2002) from Belarusian State University for Informatics and Radioelectronics, Belarus, and a Ph.D. in Information Sciences and Technology (2008) from College of Information Sciences and Technology Pennsylvania State University, USA. Dr. Pogrebnyakov is from Belarus.


ratcliffeDr. Ian Ratcliffe is Senior Consultant, Copenhagen Business School, since 1985. Ian holds an MA, Dept. of Occupational Psychology, University of London. He has long term consulting experience in executive appraisal, management training and group process facilitation. He also provides professional training and supervision for psychologists and psychotherapists and personal development counseling for executives and professionals. Since 1997, Ian served as the academic coordinator of the Facilitator group for the Personal Leadership Dimension of the EMBA program offered at Scandinavian International Management Institute, SIMI, in Copenhagen.


schultzDr. Poul Schultz is Associate Professor of International Business Strategy and Management at the Copenhagen Business School (CBS) with a focus on business opportunity studies and entry mode decisions in distant/transitional markets. Dr. Poul Schultz holds an MA (Cand.Merc) from CBS. He has extensive consulting experience with international companies, government agencies, and professional organizations on foreign market business assessment, international business collaboration and project exports. strangDr. Roger A. Strang is today an Independent Consultant and Associate Fellow, Saïd Business, School, University of Oxford. Guest associate professorships in marketing and strategy at London Business School, Columbia University and New York University. Consulting and executive education clients have included: Telefonica, Vodafone, Scania, EDS, UNDP, Texas Instruments, McKinsey, Carrier, Max Factor, Union Pacific Railroad, Toyota, Cendant, Verizon, Nokia, Arup, Allied Domecq and Mitsubishi as well as the American Management Association, Management Centre Europe and the Mediterranean Management Centre


Facilitators and Tutors

To assist the international faculty tutoring in-company assignments and to provide feedback to participants in the personal leadership development exercises, IU IEEC & CBS CCE has recruited and trained experienced Kenyan facilitators and tutors. They include:

lennardMr. Lennard Asher is a seasoned marketer, a compelling motivational speaker and Trainer. He is the Chief Empowering officer of Empowerment Resource Technologies Ltd.  A graduate of the University of Queensland and Russo Institute of Technology. He holds several Diplomas in Insurance from the Life Office Management Institute – N. C – USA. He is also a resource person for the training wing of Kenya Federation of Employers. He has worked with several insurance and training firms. He is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology with the University of Derby. Lennard is widely travelled and has facilitated several local and international seminars.


lennardDr. Eric M. Aligula is a Senior Analyst and Head, Infrastructure and Economic Services Division; Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA). He holds a Ph.D. (Infrastructure Planning & Management) University of Dortmund, Germany, Master of Arts (Building Management) and Bachelor of Arts (Building Economics) both from University of Nairobi. He is involved in Economic and strategic planning at KIPPRA which is a public policy think tank under the Ministry of State for Planning National Development and Vision 2030. Dr. Aligula provides objective, research based policy advice primarily to the Government of Kenya on various issues related to energy, transport, water and metropolitan infrastructure development. He has a wide exposure in many areas and has been involved in lecturing in different institutions, among them University of Nairobi and Makerere University.


lindaMs. Linda Mathenge Mwangi General Manager – Capstone Computers, MBA (Business Administration) - Prairie View A&M University TX BEd (Math / Geography) - Egerton University Kenya Self motivated professional with over 12 years ICT & training experience with Fortune 500 companies in the USA. MCSC trained, expert in all Microsoft Office suite of applications, Microsoft Networking and PC Security, Microsoft and MAC Operating Systems, Hardware implementation, internet savvy, experience with Enterprise Apps implementation including SAP R3, knowledgeable in project lifecycle phases, quality assurance and technical support. Extensive experience as Information systems trainer.


rahelMs. Rachel Kimani is a holder of MBA (Human Resource Management) and Msc (Textiles, Clothing and Design) both from Kenyatta University. Further she has attended several capacity development seminars & workshops such as Negotiation skills, Pedagogical skills, Training of Trainers for IU-CBS EMBA program, Digitization of training materials, leadership and coaching among others.


monicaMs. Monica Muiru A trained, experienced and internationally-exposed business professional offering over 10 years combined experience in Accounting, Marketing, Management, Fund Management, and Customer Service across the transport, media, government, and technology sectors. Solid, leadership, planning and organizational skills.


dennisMr. Dennis Tongoi Executive Director of CMS Africa. BSc Chemistry UON, Masters in Leadership Azusa Pacific University, Pursuing DTh at UNISA. Worked in more than 40 countries in Africa. Author of “Mixing God with Money: Strategies for Living in an Uncertain Economy” among other publications.
