Program history

The Executive MBA program now offered by Inoorero University in partnership with the CBS-SIMI foundation, Copenhagen, was first time run in Copenhagen 1993 by the Scandinavian International Management Institute (SIMI). In 2010 SIMI merged with the Copenhagen Business School foundation to form the CBS-SIMI Executive. By then 600 EMBA candidates from 50 countries had graduated.

The program gained strong reputation for its experiential learning methodology adding direct value to learners as well as to their supporting companies.

Recognition and accreditation

The partnership between IU and CBS-SIMI Executive, established in May 2009 and supported by Danida, guarantees the international quality of the program. The CBS-SIMI foundation is closely linked to Copenhagen Business School, a leading European Business School. In Copenhagen, the SIMI program in 2006 attained formal accreditation under the EPAS accreditation system offered by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). A renewed accreditation will be sought from the African Association of Business Schools (AABS) once the program (by August 2013) has successfully completed three Cohorts in Kenya.

According to its statutes, Commission for Higher Education, Kenya, cannot accredit a program designed for professionals.
